There are many reasons someone could need a sensory kit - autism or not. Hockey games and other sporting events have a lot of overwhelming stimuli: the bright white ice, lights, the speed of the game, the unpredictability of players, goal horns, the slashing and slapping of sticks, and the yelling and cheering of fans. All the aspects that make the game exciting for most fans can make it uncomfortable for others. The items provided in The Assist Kit can help reduce sounds and sights of the fan experience and bring it down to a comfortable level for the person - and their family - to be able to enjoy a game.

WHAT IS A SENSORY KIT?

A sensory kit is a compilation of tools used to help make an overstimulating environment more comfortable. It contains items that reduce incoming stimuli such as sunglasses and headphones as well as items that provide sensory input to help regulate ones sensory needs which will help them focus and remain comfortable.

Find us at Guest Services at all hockey games played at St. Cloud State University.

CANADA:

Saddledome, Calgary, AB, Canada

We are available at all games played at the Saddledome including hockey, lacrosse and football. Visit Guest Services outside section 226 to get yours.

Rogers Place, Edmonton, AB, Canada

At guest services you can get your own The Assist Kit at events within Rogers Place Arena.
